i ams! :) i also have a livejournal, some blogger thing, and a million billion other false starts. let’s see if this sticks, i like the format. :)
head bout to ‘splode. sinus pressure ridiculous.
i haz new job. start 2/21. finish here on 2/18. no break whatsoever from the grind.
school is ok, kicking my ass. 2 more years. 2 more years. i kinda wish i could just quit work and finish school in 2-3 full time semesters. but i can’t. bills.
speaking of, remodeling kitchen taking FOREVER. we smashed a wall down (satisfying, am eerily good with sledgehammer) and gutted it. the new paint color for both kitchen and dining room is called Delicious Melon. Thanks Behr. Originally was going with Applecrunch, but was too pale, and we wanted something zingy. so there we go.
hip slowly but surely getting better. regaining some feeling in my leg (say we’re about 65% back to feeling) which hurts twice as much, but is better than being numb.
still can’t believe i’m leaving my job. i mean yes, i’m leaving for something better, but i fear change. simply put, i love the low responsibility (in my eyes, though my job actually has high responsibility) of the current position i enjoy. but i have to move on for reasons i can’t quite explore in the public eye. that, and i want more money and benefits. the larger firm will be fun. right. i went thrifting with my friend jack m. this past saturday after breakfast at strange matter. vegan french toast is not my favorite. honestly it was a second choice, as we wanted Black Sheep but the line was out the door and eff that.
toki woke me up repeatedly through the night. he wanted to snuggle, and at 4 in the morning, was playing with an empty box for lamps under my bed. on the snuggling, it was probably b/c the only working radiator in the house (all the others temporarily disconnected thanks to our plumber, who is redoing our lines) is in the living room, aka my bedroom. i’m sleeping in there b/c our wonderful bedroom mattress (a pillowy soft heaven) no longer is comfy for my achin’ bones. also, it’s nice not to get woken up every time jason moves, and even nicer not to sweat my ass off (because in the bedroom, i sleep right effin next to the radiator.) i miss sleeping on my left side, and more, i miss the gray remote that controls the sleep timer on the living room tv. i haven’t been able to find it for daaaaaaaays, and thus, have not watched tv at night. i must find it before wednesday, as toddlers & tiaras (i know, lame, but i’m kinda addicted to it) and my strange addiction (which comes on at nine) are both on that evening. srsly. we tore the living room apart looking for it, and the only (illogical) place for it to be is now inside of something, or i accidentally threw it away. it’s pretty big, so i’m thinking the former rather than latter. maybe will buckle and just purchase a new universal one.
good.god.my.head.hurts. just took me 20 minutes to remember that my new(er) blog is on tumblr.
thank goodness my login & password are saved on it, b/c otherwise i’d never have figured that out.
speaking of which, since i’m leaving this job, i need to create a master list of accounts, passwords, and other such info i have saved on here. also, i’m irritated b/c i was unable to transfer several cd’s worth of music i purchased onto my mp3 player this morning b/c of (i think) the fact that itunes formats the songs in m4a. will have to convert them and see if that works. cd’s purchased: black keys most recent, and the game - documentary. individual songs purchased: lil kim - jump off & magic stick. am sooo stuck in the early 2000’s and 90’s when it comes to rap/hiphop. they need to come up with a better name for that style of music.
also, i bought a bank that tells me how much change i have put in it. i’m super excited for it to come so that i can slowly put all my change in it! thrills! also, it is smaller than my gallon tabasco jar, which means i will be able to spend it all sooner (i told myself i can’t spend it unless the jar is completely full or i have to pay a toll, which is Not Very Often.) than i thought. EXCITING. what shall i spend it on though? the only thing i currently am dying to have is limited edition josie maran argan oil bronzer. and i actually still have some from last summer but i need MOOOORE. am pretty well tanned right now from the tanning salon (ohhh but cancer = sooo soothing, and i love the warmth from the light and the whole ritual of putting on the lotion) so that makes me happy, and means i don’t really NEED the bronzing oil, just want it.
i will stop rambling now, as none of this is really of any consequence. will go play on ebay, because that is what responsible workers do. to be fair, i am totally done with all my work except a mailing, and i refuse to do those at work, as they are best done in front of law & order svu dvr’d episodes.
i’m quietly at my desk going insane. i am itchy in like, 3 spots on my back. naturally, i can’t reach any of them. i have tried, but it’s not satisfying, awkwardly trying to scratch really hard at a spot 3 cm away from the spot that itches, because i JUST CANT REACH IT. i’m thisclose to rubbing myself catlike against the corner of the filing cabinet, just to see if i can somehow scratch my back on that. this post is dedicated to all the stupid backscratchers i’ve seen, laughed at, waved around, and didn’t buy.
i want to tell you about sink panda. normally i wouldn’t, but since i’m remodeling my kitchen (i.e. putting myself through a strange, dusty hell so it can be less “old and cramped”), Sink Panda has become an issue.
Sink panda is a stuffed panda who i have inexplicably placed underneath or in the kitchen sink cabinet in each apartment i have lived in. And, now that i own a house, my house. he has a Rennselaer t-shirt on. i believe he is from my Uncle David out in CA, since i think he attended college there. Uncle David, not Sink Panda. Sink panda has a glow in the dark M painted on his stomach in puff paint. i’m ninety percent sure i did that when i was a kid. He also has grown a small rust stain on his head, much to my dismay.
Anyway, we’re redoing our kitchen and thus the kitchen sink (in its entirety) was thrown unceremoniously out the back door last night. So i had to relocate Sink Panda. i know it probably seems pretty funny to you (my husband, of course, tolerates this), but he’s now located under the bathroom sink, with the scrubbin bubbles and a random array of “female products.” Sink Panda is now Bathroom Sink Panda, but like i told him, it’s not forever. And hopefully, neither is the itchiness on my back.
